Introduction

This “Xinban Jingben Fengjian Xiangju Juren Xiangbian” is a set of co-edited works about fortune-telling by face. The first volume of the book consists of six volumes: Compilation of Gods and People, Songs and Fu compiled by Renxiang, Jingben Fengjian Xiangfa, Maixiang, Hundred Schools of Faith, Fengjian Xiangfa Summary, Mai Taoist Qiutan Moon Xiangfa, Maifengjian wait. The inner pages are divided into upper and lower columns, with pictures engraved on the upper part or the gist of the relevant formulas, etc., and the text below. This is the edition of Mingde Hall of the Liu family in the 30th year of Wanli in Ming Dynasty.

The titles of books titled “Jingben” in the Ming Dynasty were mostly published in Jianyang, Fujian, such as “Jingben Supplementary and Corrected Full Image Loyalty and Water Margin Commentary on Lin” published by Yu Xiangdou in the Wanli period, and Xiong Qingbo’s “Newly Engraved Jingben Supplementary Popular Romance Complete Biography of the Three Kingdoms”, Yang Xianchun’s engraved “Jingben Popular Romance Jianjian Quanhan Zhizhuan”, etc. “Jingben” refers to the books published in Beijing and Nanjing at that time. Regarding this question, Mr. Hu Shiying explained: “The word ‘Jingben’ was marked with the words ‘Jingben’, which was entrusted by the actual bookmaker Jia to show the reliability of the version, just like the speaker in the Song Dynasty who called for ‘Jingshi Laolang’. As a national publishing center, the books published in Nanjing are superior to those in Fujian in terms of paper and style. Therefore, selling books under the name of “Jingben” has become a common trick of many Fujian booksellers.
