Introduction

“Doushu Observation Record”, the original book is one volume, not divided into volumes. Compiled by Cai Shan, king of the Republic of China. It is now published according to the rearrangement of the printed version in the thirty-seventh year of the Republic of China (1948). Wang’s three Ziwei Doushu works: “Doushu Xuanwei” (the first collection), “Doushu Xuanwei Second Collection”, “Doushu Observation Record”, are important works of Ziwei Doushu that inherit the past and inherit the future. This book revises, organizes, and simplifies the Anxing method, deduction principles and methods in the ancient books of Ziwei Doushu, and revises and develops the theories in the ancient books of Ziwei Doushu by summarizing the experience of people at that time. He also put forward the method of “borrowing and dismantling the twelve palaces”, and tried to apply the deduction of Ziwei Doushu which was originally designed only for numerology to geomancy and divination. These are all inventions and developments of Ziwei Doushu. This book inherits Wang’s first two books, and it is better than the previous two books on Ziwei Doushu’s temperament, nature, and calculation principles, the application of Doushu in geomancy and divination, and the method of “borrowing and dismantling the twelve palaces”. The book has more in-depth and detailed deduction and more inventions, as well as a large number of experimental explanations. It can be said to be the most important of Wang’s three Ziwei Doushu works. However, the first two books are still circulated among the workshops, and its posthumous work “Doushu Observation Record” has been little known. The original book was published at the time of civil war and political turmoil, and its circulation was extremely rare after publication, and it has almost disappeared into obscurity.
