Introduction

The author of this book, Wei Qianli (1911-1988), was born in Jiaxing, Zhejiang. Graduated from the Department of Literature, Fudan University, Shanghai. When he was young, he learned from his family, and he was less a genius. He was able to tell fortunes with Ziping when he was young. He was known as a child prodigy at that time. At the age of more than ten years, he has been engaged in professional fortune-telling, and has written many works on numerology, such as “Selected Numerology About Words”, “Thousand-Li Fate Draft”, “Webster’s Numerology Lecture Notes”, etc., which became popular for a while. In the Republic of China, he was as famous as Yuan Shushan and Xu Lewu at that time. He was a master of modern numerology. He rearranged, revised, simplified, vernacularized and modernized the ancient Ziping numerology since Ming and Qing Dynasties. It can be said that it inherited the past and inspired the future, and had a profound impact on the development of Ziping’s life science in the early Republic of China and later. In addition to Jingziping, Webster is also good at divination of Daliuren. During the Xi’an Incident, Chiang Kai-shek’s wife, Ms. Song Meiling, asked Webster to teach Liuren, and everything she said was true. It was praised for a while. Webster lived in Hong Kong after 1949 and died in 1988. The original name of this book is “Liuren Secret Collection”. After Webster’s research on Liuren’s divination for many years, he collected the theories of various schools, explored the best, rearranged, revised, and vernacularized; it was classified into Liuren’s works with modern examples. Later, it was revised and republished, and renamed “Divination Handouts”. It can be said that it is a must-read book for those who study Liuren divination since the Republic of China. The base of this book is based on the 1942 edition of Xubailu Tibet, which was cleaned up with the latest digital technology, and the original Webster’s advertisements, fees, and original copyright pages at the back of the book are preserved. One is for preservation and collection of astrology materials, and the other is for reference and research by fellows.
